Disco School: Plan the Unplannable, Ljubljana, 17—21 December 2021 + ONLINE
“We wanted to inspire the local community to share their dreams and ambitions with us, and to play with the idea of what they would do if they were in charge of the urban planning in the city.”
After two very successful events in Murska Sobota and Firminy, France, the Disco School exhibition is moving to Ljubljana, where it will be on display at the Institute for Transmedia Design. For the very first time, the exhibition will be presented in a web format as well.
The opening of the online exhibition is planned for Friday, 17 December at 18:00 (CET). Virtual visitors will be able to walk through the universe of a different, transformed Murska Sobota and discover more about the processes, the artworks, and all the ideas that emerged from the workshop. The link to the online exhibition will be published on Speculativeedu’s social media.
The Disco School educational project is co-produced with the Center for Creativity at MAO and is part of the Platform Center for Creativity’s partner network, it is co-financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Slovenia, by City Municipality Ljubljana and by City Municipality Murska Sobota.
The exhibition is also be on display in Ljubljana at the Institute for Transmedia Design, Einspielerjeva 25, on the following dates:
Saturday, 18.12. – from 10.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00
Sunday, 19.12. – from 16.00 to 18.00
Monday, 20.12. – from 16.00 to 18.00
Tuesday 21.12. – 10.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00
On these dates, visitors are able to pick up a free copy of our book Beyond Speculative Design: Past – Present – Future. The book presents an overview of the practice and leading practitioners. It serves as a tool to empower the reader to approach the design of future scenarios.
