How does a child understand content?

To better understand content consumption and children viewing habits, we have invited Timon Leder to feed us with new knowledge.

We all think television makes children stupid. However, since their very early age, they actively indulge in film-viewing. While growing up, they are attracted to various types of formal features that change with age in type and difficulty. When chosen thoughtfully by the author or mentor ,these “forms” aid a child’s and adolescent’s comprehension of the story and engagement in viewing.

We, the designers ask ourselves, how we can enhance a child’s understanding of and engagement in stories by choosing the age-appropriate formal elements?

To better understand content consumption and children viewing habits, we have invited Timon Leder to feed us with new knowledge.
The open lecture will be held on 28 November, 2013, inside our office in Ljubljana, a creative knowledge sharing space, which is a key part of our institution’s DNA.
