The 7th East Doc Platform, the largest Central and Eastern European documentary event, and a meeting point for leading film professionals, filmmakers, producers, distributors, TV, and festival programmers, will open its doors again on March 3, 2018 in Prague.
Out of 300 applicants from around the world, the best documentary projects have been selected to present to professional and regular audiences alike. We will be there too! Together with Laura Palmer and Marilyn Monroe.
Our CEO, Sara Božanič (co-producer and co-director), producer Spencer Hunt (Lookit, US), and Jasmina Kallay (director) will once again open up THE question: Who killed Laura Palmer?
But wait. Shouldn’t the actual question be: Who killed Marilyn Monroe?
Twin Marilyn is a VR documentary project in the form of a VR gallery experience showcased in 6 rooms (6 rooms for 6 episodes). The VR experience provides an interactive space, which strengthens immersion and involvement in the story being told before your eyes. In each room, the participant/viewer is offered unmistakable clues that reference Monroe’s life and death, from visuals and set pieces (i.e. an Abraham Lincoln portrait, coffee references, the names of female characters) to Laura’s confessions (on tape and in her diary) to narrative developments, giving the participant a unique immersive experience.
The VR gallery experience changes the way the participant views and feels the film, easing them into new realms of discovering the secrets of Marilyn Monroe’s life and death.
