Disco school at the Centre for Creativity’s “Created in Slovenia” exhibition

A group exhibition looking back at the work of the Centre for Creativity (CzK) platform, showcasing some of its most important programmes, including the work of the Institute for Transmedia Design.

Once again, the results of our Disco School project will be exhibited in Ljubljana, but this time as part of a larger group exhibition. From 27 May until 2 October 2022, in the Cukrarna Palace, the “Created in Slovenia” collective exhibition will take a look back at the first five years of the Centre for Creativity’s platform operation, highlighting some of its most noteworthy programs.

“On display are the works and projects of a vibrant and creative community, whose common denominator is its capacity to create change in society and to think differently, inclusively, and sustainably.” (CzK)

The CzK was established in 2017 by the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. It is an interdisciplinary platform connecting and supporting thousands of creators, artists, self-employed freelancers in culture, creative entrepreneurs, organisations, associations, and institutions from various fields, all with the aim of developing and promoting the Slovenian cultural and creative sector and its integration with other sectors.

The Institute for Transmedia Design has been part of the CzK’s platform since its very beginning and has developed several projects with their support, the most recent being the Disco School, a workshop aimed at inspiring children and the local community of the small town of Murska Sobota to move away from the nostalgic past and towards a new view of the future.

Let’s dive into a world of countless possibilities. Join us for the opening of “Created in Slovenia” on Friday, 27 May 2022, at 6 pm at Cukrarna Palace. The exhibition will be on view until 2 October 2022, from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm.
