Screening of Cinda Real at the European Forum on the Rights of the Child

The Forum concluded with powerful commitments from policymakers and children alike, setting a renewed course for safeguarding and advancing the rights of children in Europe and beyond.

The 15th edition of the European Forum on the Rights of the Child, on behalf of the European Commission Directorate General for Justice took place on 23–24 of June 2025 at the Borschette Conference Centre in Brussels, dedicated to the theme of: “Championing Children’s Rights: Building Fair and Resilient Societies for the EU’s Present and Future – by Children, for Children”

This year’s Forum gathered over 250 participants, including distinguished EU representatives and members of parliament, young minds, civil society organisations, and academics. At the Forum’s heart was the active participation of children, who presented their Call for Action and co-led discussions on climate change, child protection, digital resilience, democracy, and global challenges affecting children’s rights.

Among the highlights of the event was the Screening of Cinda Real by Twisted Tales, a participatory co-creation project showcasing the involvement of children not just as an audience, but as creators/co-authors of the project, which brought fresh perspectives to the conversation of children’s participation in discussions of their rights in the digital era. The Forum also welcomed Sara Božanić (CEO of ITD and Chief Dreamer), who participated in the event and connected with attendees during book-signing sessions. Her presence underscored the importance of combining creativity, storytelling, and activism to empower young people and amplify their voices.
